Lovely Lace Clothing

Here it is Saturday and snowing again!! I am glad I planned to stay home today but now I want to get out in the snow , I will after this post.
I had a pleasant surprise from an old friend who moved away a few years ago. She still lives in Missouri however we don't see each other that often. She was my running partner , we hit every antique mall in Missouri I do believe. I am downsizing my things and she bought several items from me , made us both happy.

I was going through my one pile of old linens and tablecloths and remember a dress I seen in one of my Fashion books, anyway a dress looked just like one of my cotton tablecloths anyway it looked similar to me

These tablecloths are heavy not like a delicate tablecloth. I have a couple delicate tablecloths that I would love to cut up to make a lace tunic and I am going to do that soon as I can stay home long enough to sew. I have to be in the mood and have everything ready ahead of time to sew.

The book FASHION is fabulous it has clothing from early 1800 which I Love textile  and apparel studies
Look at these ladies corset. The first one is dated 1580-1600 French, described iron with scroll motif

The left corset 1760 the right one dates early 18th century, the middle child's mid 18th century

I purchased this book at Barnes and Noble and I think it is so interesting
This table cloth if I cut it up for a top I could really just use the bottom 8 inches because it has a solid middle. Have you ever looked at the clothing Magnolia Pearl sews? It is made out of old tablecloths and crochet pieces.        She would cut this up in a heart beat

This is same tablecloth
While I was looking through things i found my beaded flowers and put them with my button flowers

For Sale pillowcases $25.00  + postage I am putting some things on my blog from time to time. I don't want to open an etsy shop or should I? I didn't start this blog to sell things I just wanted to have fun which I have. I am just packed with things I have purchased and ready to let some things go really lots of things. I am planning a yard sale when the snow stops, but when will that be? another question. It's been snowing 2 1/2 hours and the ground was covered after an hour

This is a bolster pillowcase I just have one . The lace on it is a little frayed

This is the tablecloth I love and i am going to use it for my lace tunic. I seen a Ralph Lauren lace tunic I loved and it was $350.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These are my real family pictures cousins and Aunts and Uncles and the last picture I am the little girl on the left

Cousin Donna Sue

This is an old picture that hung in My Great Aunt Ollie's bedroom . I can remember it as a child. She lived in a real old house and had all antiques.   Her and Uncle John's bed was an old iron bed and this picture was in that room. I found it at my Mom's house after she died.

I added this pink depression glass butter dish so I could play Pink Saturday at How Sweet The Sound

  5. Wow - those corsets don't look very comfortable! No wonder women were prone to fainting, or the vapours! Have a great weekend!

  7. Lovely items. I would have so much trouble cutting up the lace tablecloth, I just wouldn't be able to do it. Good luck with it. Happy Pink Saturday!

  8. I love your ideas to use a beautiful old table cloth. Lets face it we just do not use them much anymore. My beautiful lace tablecloths do not fit my table now. Sigh. Good luck with your idea and then share it with us.I love the pink butter dish.
