I have a lot of things packed in some of my vintage luggage which I like also.
I have tried to narrow my collectibles down to one or two things and can't choose just two things.
This is a little cabinet I bought at an auction last summer and it is really heavy solid wood maybe oak . I bought it because of the chippy paint coming off of it. Since that is the rage now and I wanted to set it on one of my shelves, I think it had a drawer in this bottom slot. I wonder where was this used in someones home and for what and why would they keep it in an old shed and not burn it or throw it in a ditch or hollow?
My grandmother said they always threw unwanted items in a ditch on the farm. Now where is that ditch?
It has a cute door lock
I like the cubby holes to stash fun vintage things I have
I put a few things in the cabinet as I found them in boxes and the old suit cases. I love this old white fat pitcher and the little metal scoop on the shelf
The white cup and dish came from Faded Prairie . I bought this nesting set of bowls at an auction a couple years ago no one was bidding on it but then I made it real popular real quick so paid more for it than i would have liked to , the story of all auctions. But they reminded me of my Grandmother she had a water pitcher and small glasses with this pattern on it back in the day.
I just love them all nestled together
This is an old painters tray (water colors) that I use to put some things in while working on altered art cards you know little trinkets that i am using . Maybe i should give it a good scrubbing with paint remover
I am really ready to let go of some of my treasures because for the mere fact I just have too much stuff packed away . I don't want to start an etsy page so will sell it at a yard sale , if you see something you might be interested in just send me an email most of the jewelry i will always keep
I have several of these old door knobs (yard sale )
These are pot scrubbers
In this jar is a few rusty ornate drawer pulls that I am looking for the perfect chest to put them on and they will be painted also
See I have things besides pretties. I don't know for sure where these were used some kind of door key hole maybe. I loved them thought they would look great on the outside of an old book
This is what most of the things were stored in
This is an old cushion cover barkcloth i think is what it's called
(yard sale)
I was looking out the studio window onto my patio
My studio is in the lower level of my house my old personalized licenses plates are in the way
I bought a new PT Cruiser when they came out and had PT PUGS on my licenses plates now I just have plain ole plates
Here is a picture of the glorious mess in my studio I am making valentine cards can you tell? Click on the picture to get the real effect

Hi Janice,
ReplyDeletethank you for stopping by and leaving that nice comment. So I discovered your blog again. You have so many charming things, I just love it. I didn't know how many colored and decorated Pyrex forms exist. I knew only the simple brown ones.
And your rhinestone collection is fabolous. Love it. Yes, to find such a ditch would be very nice. This is my dream, too.
Greetings, Johanna
Wow, you have really found some amazing treasures. I absolutely adore those pot scrubbers. Never have seen them before. I was trying to figure out if they were some style of rug beaters until I read their description.
ReplyDeleteThank you for teaching me something new today! :)
Blessings to you!!!
I know what you're talking about - I really need to cut down on my collecting. I love your little cabinet, and those glass bowls with the pretty pattern are great! How wonderful to have your own studio, where you can have a mess if that's what you want. It's hard to create when you have to worry about cleaning up. Thank you for linking to Favorite Things. laurie

I don't have the bravery that you do.I just keep walking by so many boxes of "who knows what" stored in my basement. But the sad thing is I have stored these same boxes before our move to our new house for 13 yrs in a storage unit.I refuse to do the math, and that's prehaps why I can't bring myself to open them.
ReplyDeleteCongrats an winning such an awesome prize!!
Ohhhhh I loved all your vintage goodness in all of these photos! The cabinet was my favortie for sure!
