I have been gone a few days up toward Kansas City Missouri. My Dad has passed away . My sisters and I set at the nursing home with him. We talked to him even though we knew he couldn't talk back.
We laughed told funny family stories reminiscence about good days and bad days LOL
We played Glen Miller Cd's and some old Elvis and other rock & roll music because him & Mom loved to dance. They use to always go out every New Year's to dances. I sometimes called them and said stay home it's freezing rain and you'll have a wreck. LOL they didn't listen to me ( wonder why)? I have pictures of Mom in her long evening gowns and Dad all dressed up in suit & tie. Mom always had her hair & nails done new dress new shoes and always wore her fur coat that was especially made for her with her initials in it. I have it in one of my closets.
This is their wedding picture ( not very good I need to adjust my camera )

I'm so sorry Janice, please accept my deepest sympathy. What a love story, loved the part about you being the parent and telling them to stay home. When a woman is treated like a Queen and a man like the King, Heaven on Earth can be achieved. Your parents had the secret, we can all learn from them.
ReplyDeleteJanice,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your Dad. You were very lucky to be with him and spend that special time. My Dad passed in 93 and I was lucky enough to be there also, I still miss him but it does get easier and happily, your Dad and Mom are back together!

ReplyDeleteOh Janice I'm so so sorry you lost your beloved father. He's gone to be with your mom and you'll see them again. I know that doesn't help much right now, hopefully though it offers some comfort? (((HUGS))) Vanna
ReplyDeleteJanice, I am so sorry that you have lost your father. I know how hard that is. My Mom and Dad are gone and I still miss them so.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that they were married June, 1957. My Sweet Old Bob and I were married June, 1958. We are kinda glued to one another. It sounds like your parents had some wonderful times and it is so nice that you can recall their love for each other and the special times. Those sweet memories help.
The circle will be unbroken.
My prayers are with you and your family.
Ginger
