Country Crocks / Farmhouse

I have been missing my old country crocks that I wanted to start collecting when I was about 22 years old and they were always so pricey I couldn't afford them back  even in late 1976. By the time the 1980's rolled around I got a couple. Then 1990's I bought every one under $50 I think. Anyway I got them out of the studio pie safe and brought them upstairs to the kitchen for me to look at them again.
They would be perfect in today's farmhouse kitchens

I just removed everything I had setting up on this old dish cabinet and started setting them in no certain arrangement
I only kept 3 of my yellow ware crocks when I had an auction years ago. Also kept my old Blue Butter crock
I set this bucket of dried rose buds in a crock but don't like it there now so it will go back on top of refrigerator
Of course I had to leave my little country staffordshire dogs
Still love my blue country crocks I like the grape pattern on this large jug and milk glass shaker

I am glad I kept them many anyway

By the way I found a new magazine by the name Country Cottage? why had I never seen it before. Anyway there is an article about a girl who has collected these brass horse harness crest and medallions that I recently bought at an estate sale. Have you seen the magazine ? it's nice

More Little Favorites

I have a lot of little things that I have stuck in cubby  holes and jars and on shelves in my studio that it's hard to get rid of a piece of furniture because there would be no place to put my tiny favorite things. I really like antique sewing notions the little sewing machine next to the scissors is very small and has a little spool of thread in it and tiny scissors. Love these little scissors also some old screw back earrings

I have had this old painted turquoise cabinet all over the house once in the kitchen now in the studio. It never had glass in the door and the back of it is a mirror which makes it heavy. I have been going to break off the mirror and put lace back but i'll leave it alone there is more things that need attention now. ps I leave my little Christmas trees out year long in this cabinet
Then I have a lot of large jars some of which I have sold but decided to keep a few so I stuffed them with some of my old lace and get it out of a vintage suitcase so I could see it. I like it in the jars. There is a lot more just didn't have a picture

Boy is it HOT !!  upper 97  I am not enjoying this heat index of 106. I would much rather have snow any day. Our parish picnic is tonight and I just don't think I can eat a hot dog in 100 degree temperatures even if it's under a big tree on a paved drive? LOL

I am still working on getting my camera situation  worked out. A  gal  is going to show me how to get to my pictures off my iphone 6S to my pc which I have done  however can't use them through blogger ? seems blogger and iphone doesn't connect. Any advice is accepted

Favorite Things

I have lots of favorite things throughout my house that is why I have a 4 bedroom house and a studio packed to the ceiling. I really am trying to decide what to destash.  I am going to start by asking friends if they want certain dishes I am willing to part with.  However not many takers so far. So when it gets cooler I'll have a 3 day sale? I have been doing this procedure over 2 years .I remove stuff then buy more LOL
I still love and covet the old 1800's pictures and Staffordshire dogs also my aesthetic platter in the background. It is huge and perfect for that era

This is my favorite splatterware graniteware coffee pot. I seen  it at  an estate auction back in the 1980's. I bought it in Glasgow Missouri. I wanted everything in that auction.

A sweet little serving dish hand painted marked nippon the gold is almost perfect all the way around adorned with tiny rosebuds

My favorite pin cushion my stuffed pug dog I added his lace necklace and charm and stuck lots ladies hat pins in him

Someone just gave this teapot me she bought it in Hermann Missouri at a city wide sale. Handmade by someone there. It was me either take it or she was going to put it in her trash.

I am a rescue person LOL

Hope all is well out there. I think I'm getting use to this over 90 degree heat wave we are in. Stay cool

Painted Lazy Susan

I had a good weekend cleaning out drawers and making give a away boxes for different people and taking more clothes to a donation center here in town named the Wardrobe.
I pretty much cleaned out my garage of just plain oh stuff filled 4 big black bags and it went out trash day.
I have so many drawers full of sentimental things of my Mom's and Grandmother that I probably need to part with.Like my Grandmothers last billfold with her Id's in it and her clear rain bonnet she always wore to keep her newly set hair do nice on a rainy day.

I had this lazy Susan that looked just like my little cubby hole desk before she got painted and had wanted to spray paint it so did a quick spray and now it's on the table. I gave a quarter for it at a friends moving sale. Of course it turns around so nice
Baby it's HOT here today fyi LOL
I don't like my pictures seem they are dark. I really need to quit complaining about my camera and just go get another one ?
This shelf below needs another coat or two of spray paint. It's on the wall in the studio behind a chest of drawers I painted silver
I won't be painting today because it's a work day so stay cool and water your flowers fill your bird baths so the birds can cool off

Little White Desk

I want to show the after picture first, seems like the before pictures on painted furniture is always ugly ? right. There is nothing like white paint to clean up and doll up a piece of furniture big or small.

I have always liked any desk that you can stick mail or post cards in slots. I have a big desk downstairs I want to get painted white and use it again upstairs in the kitchen. I was moving it once and dropped it and broke off front legs which can be fixed by someone who knows how. This is when I'm jealous of gals who have a handy man husband who can use tools and fix anything. I can glue rhinestone and paint and sew little but can't use tools
This is a very small tea set setting on it.Some 1900's post card with once cent stamps on them
I painted this while I was downstairs doing laundry this past Tuesday. I took it out back on my patio and gave it about 4 coats of paint. I usually work on something when i'm in the studio which is right next to the laundry room and my storage room that I drag things out of.
My storage room junk is going down since I have had so many yard sales

Before White spray paint, this little desk is 10 inches in height x 7 x 4 inches , I think I found it at a yard sale once.

It's so small I may put it on my etsy shop? Do you think anyone besides me would want it ?

Calico Teapot

Hi guys

I'm almost out the door to go get some flowers and Birthday balloons for my friend who is 101 today! Can you believe 101 and still going good? We usually go out for lunch on Monday's and go shopping for whatever he needs or wants .

As I walked by my teapot lamp I decided to show it off again. Also my calico teapot that matches my set of dishes I bought in the 1980's made in England Staffordshire

I used some of my antique lace to cover the shade n my little lamp

My pretty calico teapot , my grandson and I have used this having our tea parties, yes grandsons because their is no granddaughters in this family haha we have used kool aid ,juice and crystal light in it. They loved it, guess I should have shown my little demi cups we used that matches the teapot

Well I have got to get going, I need to go to a florist to get a pretty pot of hydrangeas and then stop at the dollar tree and get birthday balloons. We are going to La Margarita mexican restaurant because Norman likes to speak spanish to the waitress, to  keep his spanish fresh

Thanks for all my nice comments on my decorated abalone shells I dolled up with rhinestones and pearls

Another Shell Bowl

I went out to a local flea market last Saturday and found another large shell to decorate and so Saturday afternoon I played with the shell and pearls and rhinestones.
I have really enjoyed decorating these shells. This one is a surprise gift for a friend.

This one I added lots pearls and a little silver metal  fish inside since the shell came from the ocean anyway just like the pearls and fish, right? I had all these do dads in jars and drawers in the studio. I had a rhinestone bracelet I broke apart and used and then the pearls came from a broken costume vintage pearl necklace. Not sure when I got the little metal fish it was just in one of my treasure jars

Oh and I used E6000 glue. It's will hold forever and dries very clear so I don't have to be real neat
I think I have an idea to jazz these shells up a little in my spare time. I had a good relaxing weekend and I got my garage cleaned out and even hosed out and mopped, it sure looks better. I even filled the trunk of my car with clothes, shoes and nick nacks and took it down to the Wardrobe a donation center Tuesday.
This is a large bowl  full of shells from north west coast and a few from Flordia of my grandmother's that I have sitting in my kitchen floor
These are just so fun and glamorous  to make did you see my post a couple back of the first one I decorated? I should name them something  beside shell bowls ?  maybe glitzy art shells ?
