Not saying neither one is tip top shape however liveable. LOL
I am rearranging my house downstairs where my studio and another guest room is. I have this heavy beautiful 1800's iron bed I bought years ago in an antique shop from one of our river towns.anyway I can't move the thing and I am going to sell it so I can paint the floor in this bedroom. I can surely find another bed like a day bed that I will like as much
This bed must weigh 500 lbs ? LOL I remember buying it and struggling to get it in my house , however I just love it because it was the first round iron bed I had ever seen
This is the head board in the above picture
I have changed the bed covering several times, It's time to remove the pink quilts and put the white lace cover back on. It's such a nice day ,no rain anyway I can hang the bedding outside on the clothes line to dry
I have never painted it I always wanted to paint it white and friends told me no leave it like it is , so here it is black and gold
Linky parties I joined in
Oh my gosh, Janice, I WISH I lived near enough to take that baby! It is so beautiful, so unique in its shape. I have never seen a round one like that! Are you sure you want to sell it? I understand your sentiment about the weight, but oh boy, is it ever a beauty!

I love it too ...so unusual and beautiful! I've never seen anything like it and that really makes it special! I hope you figure out what to do! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteyou never see many of those anymore
ReplyDeleteThis is AWESOME!!! Oh, I would give my eye teeth for that, (are my Southern roots showing? lol!) But for the thousand miles between us, and the 500 pound weight of the bed, I'd snap it up in a heart beat!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Patti
Wow! What a beautiful bed! Wish I lived closer, I would be glad to give it a home!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness... that bed is wonderful! I've never seen one like it. I'd love to have it, but I can't stick one more piece of furniture in here or my house would burst. I'm glad you never painted it :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week,
rue
That is one amazing bed. I just love it!
ReplyDeleteThat bed is gorgeous. I wouldn't be able to part with it!
ReplyDeleteOh it is too beautiful -- what a treasure!
ReplyDeleteJust a note to tell you that I use MAGIC SLIDERS to move furniture around in my shop. I once used them to move a 400 Lb woodstove in the basement. I've bought cheaper ones, but they don't hold up week in week out like this As Seen on TV kind work. I keep them permanently under the store counter so I can clean under it. The bed is so beautiful and unusual.

Oh that is drop dead gorgeous Janice!! Never seen anything like that either ~ I can believe it weighs a ton...they sure don't make them like they use to ~ I got a headboard 20 + years ago and you can pick it up and carry it around with one hand lol!!! Enjoyed your hydrangeas below...gosh...never can get enough hydrangeas for sure!! Hope you are having a delightful week!

This is an awesome bed! Not sure if I would paint it or not, but I would love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful bed...would be hard for me to let go of it. Maybe you could use good furniture sliders to move it around as you paint the floor. You don't see beds like that often..what a beauty!
ReplyDeleteThis time I hope signing up for your blog works. I went through Linky. I love the bed. I have never seen one like it. Wondering how comfortable it is. Blessings
ReplyDeleteyeah Nancy
Deleteglad to see you here commenting on my bed, The bed would be very comfortable if I had a nice mattress set on it LOL I have a huge feather bed on it and you sink into it
This is an awesome bed---I would think that you'd get a pretty penny for something so unique. Good luck. And thanks for the visit! :)

ReplyDeleteI'm loving that iron bed, my Dad gave me a poster iron bed years ago--not as unique as yours though.
