Before and After Chairs

I had questions about my pink painted chair well this will be a short post sort of a tutorial

This is the before picture of my pink chair when it was green and a blond wood
I used a white paint  primer and pink latex paint, I just kept painting in between layers till all the green was covered, some times if I remembered I used a very fine sandpaper because I had read to sand in between layers of paint on furniture.

You can see another chair just like this one I painted all white, it's sitting behind the green chair

after primer and latex paint

I have another chair I am going to start on however after I paint it white I am using country life toile waverly material to cover seat and arms , I will eventually get a picture for you all to see.

  2. Definitely changed the look. I love the pink color! I have never tried painting fabric before please let us know how it wears.

  3. This is gorgeous---just the shade I like. But is it "sit-able"? I cannot imagine sitting down on it even once---it seems the give of the fabric might cause tearing somewhere, no matter how well the paint is applied.

But for a side-chair to enhance the décor---it's splendid.

    1. I have set in it for over 2 years now and the paint hasn't cracked on my pink chair.
I painted another chair same design white and now it looks dirty due to my hands pulling it up to the table over the years , it does need another coat of white paint .
      they are sit-able

  4. That is just amazing to me that the painted seat holds up and good to know. I love the monochromatic look of having the whole thing pink. Well done.

  5. Nice job! I have been painting fabric pieces for years and they hold up beautifully. I do think the sanding between coats keeps them supple. xo Diana
