Cage Santos

I was real good during Christmas shopping not to buy myself any more Christmas decor, then one day I went to Dillard's just to walk around and see what was left in the home decor section. Really I had cabin fever and needed to get away from the house so I would quit eating cookies etc LOL
I seen her setting there and for hardly nothing in price compared to other Santos I have priced. So all I could do was bring her home. Wouldn't you for under $20?

She is 25 inches tall and I can see white paint coming her way though I sort of like this brown chippy metal that she is. Would you paint her ?

It is so cold here today down to zero tonight with wind chills negative in the single digits. When I went to work this morning the streets wasn't cleared off from our snow last night and early this morning. However my neighbor with his new snow blower cleaned off my drive way for me LOL Bless his heart

linky parties I will join in

  8. I think she is beautiful and even cheap hearted me would have taken her home.
I like her just as she is, but you could paint and distress her to match your decor if you like.

  17. Love her! What an awesome find... I've always loved these. I don't think I'd paint her, at least not yet.

Hope you're doing ok re: the weather. It was almost 70 here today and tomorrow's high will be in the 30's. That's Texas for you! :)

  22. She's delightful and don't change a thing! A great buy for sure, and we do need to treat ourselves sometimes!
I have two large repro santos dolls - both are wood and were quite expensive - and I enjoy them so much in my home. Both have removable wings which I usually put away after Christmas but this time I'm leaving them in place because they are so beautiful. I first fell in love with them when visiting the Spanish missions outside of San Antonio, TX.

    Visiting from Elizabeth's post!
Happy New Year to you and yours - stay warm and safe through the winter.

  23. She is fab, but you know me, I paint everything. Having said that, I would probably "live" with her as is, for a while (she's beautiful)....then someday come up from behind her and jump her with a brush full of paint! :-)) Okay, maybe not "jump" (been in the city too long, picking up the vernacular) but a bit of "war paint" always makes a girl feel good!

It is STILL freezing!! Be careful out there, missy.

    Happy New Year!!
    Big hugs
