I really have always liked old dingy chippy shabby things. I know when I bought a lot of this at auctions my friends whoever was with me said don't buy that dirty old thing or dirty old doll but I seen beauty in it at one time in my life I didn't listen and just brought those treasures home and put them in my old cabinets. Now I can get them out for show and tell and they are in style. LOL
These old dolls just have material wrapped around them for a body I am sure they got broken and Mom or Grandma fixed them right up for the little girl to keep on playing with
The Lady is on an old cigar box lid I just couldn't throw her away when the box completely fell apart from being so old . Another thing my friends would trash.
These are copper engraving practice plates, I think they belonged to a jeweler at one time and he or she practiced doing monogramming on jewelry. They are copper on one side then the back side is a silver looking. I love all the J's so had to show these one first. I got them at an estate sale in Kansas City Missouri My sister and I was on our way to a little town south of Kansas City and ran upon this sale so we stopped Of course there was several in a small box now they set with all my other small treasures
you may need to click on the picture to make it larger
Here is an odd fancy shoe that I just set in my shelf because I liked the shoe at this sale there was only one shoe how funny they couldn't find the other one but there was so much stuff at this sale it was just amazing. I didn't want to leave. I made 3 trips to my car with arm fulls you couldn't set your things down someone would pick them up. So I paid made a trip to car then shopped paid and made more trips to the car. This lady had wonderful things I know we could have been friends, she died young from cancer and her daughters was cleaning out Mom's house by having a yard sale. More people told them to have an auction and they would make more money they didn't care about the money they just wanted to clean out their Mom's house. Did I say everything was 25 cents!!!!!!!!!!!!each. I told this story on an older post so if any one reading this remembers I am repeating the story that's OK
The sun was coming in the studio through the windows early this morning that is why there is sun streaks on these picture but since I am not a professional photographer that is fine with me you all can tell what is in the picture. I love having east windows in the early morning
These Vick's jars were in auction boxes I use to see these at my Grandmother's house and the Noxzema face cream jar
These are the clear bottles I like and they have some of my Bakelite buttons or are they celluloid buttons? My friend glued the green marbles in the holes on the bottle then I added the wire button necklace. The bottle on the right has vintage green glass Christmas garland another thing I got at an auction
Here is a card I recieved from Susan It's A Very Cherry World I just love seeing what others can make out of paper . I was late getting mine back to her
How cute is this ?
Thanks Susan
