Inside Birds

Well I do believe spring has finally came to central Missouri and the birds are happy and so am I.
I still throw out sunflower seeds for my birds year around, just feed them more in the winter then always have water for them

Anyway I bought this embossed cardboard picture frame with birds on it at a shop in Chesterfield Antique Mall at their warehouse sale and I loved it soon as I seen it. Not perfect for you people who want only perfect items LOL See the top left corner.

The colors are good and look at the birds ! it's about a 8 x 10 inch frame. I tried different pictures and different ephemera papers and nothing looked good.

So I started going through drawers of papers I have and seen this music paper and thought, YES the birds are singing, so used this.

I have been outside a lot today, raking my yard dragging out flower pots  from my garden shed and painting an item and haven't completed one project . I have just gone from one thing to another. This is what I usually do I get so excited when I get an idea about something.

A friend said this frame is from around 1910

I have enough energy to get back outside and fill a bag of leaves where I cleaned out my peonies bed. They are coming up beautifully. I'm sure your flowers are also ? Hope you are busy also.

Snowy Saturday

I can't believe it has snowed today didn't accumulate to much on ground however it snowed for a long time. Temperatures tonight low 27!!  Rain most of day also.

Our Rivers are really rising here in Missouri, I have a friend on the river in Clarksville whose house is in big danger of serious flooding. It's sad to see a mansion flood.

I worked in my studio off and on all day trying to straighten up work tables and making it look maybe not so cluttered which it is . I rearranged some tables and still need to get more done. This picture is just a shelf.

I also did some baking today ,I made chocolate chip black walnut cookies. They are soooo good . I bake from scratch no mixes most of the time.LOL
Delicious if I say so myself.

This is a page out of an old Victorian calendar to remind me it is still March  one more day. I think the little girl is so cute and the bunny

My flapper doll waiting to be dressed ,that pink silk is off an old blouse of mine and of course an old lace dollies. I posted these for Pink Saturday . She is sitting in a chair I painted pink several years ago and paint is still good

Also my pink fairy is posted for Pink Saturday at How Sweet The Sound blog, she is hanging under a shelf

Gosh I'm tired now so must go have cup hot tea and rest a while, hope you are having a good Saturday.
My neighbors just drove in from Tampa Florida and came home to a cold surprise with our snow

I Went To Paris

Well I did go to Paris Missouri to an antique show with a friend. It was like back in the late 1980's to me all the blue crocks, quilts and primitives that I use to love.

I bought some flatware forks which my Instagram friends said are cake knives which I thought was fish forks LOL
I just love them I also purchased a large serving spoon and a butter knife to match the pattern oh also a cake server

After that show we drove over to Mexico Missouri and went in a fabulous small shop which the owner collects clocks and has many in his shop. Anybody that knows me knows I love rhinestones on anything LOL and when I seen this clock I knew I wanted it. It is marked France !!! I'm sure Paris ?

I need to show a few pink thing for Pink Saturday and this time of year before Easter there is plenty of Pink around here. I'm sure at your house and studio also. This is a box of little treasures I bought at a warehouse sell in Chesterfield to adorn some of my creations I'm always working on something  for self entertainment. I Love the little plastic lamb.

Here is a tray of Easter Eggs I am still working on which I have the ideas in my head just can't get them on the eggs, do you know what I mean? I found this white porcelain egg tray in a resale shop last week and it's perfect for my fancy eggs. I'll add the rhinestones on the handle

Here is a couple plastic rabbits that opens and I added some of my vintage buttons in them

Well I have to take a walk while the sun is out, it has rained some today and lots thunder also.

Fun With Sea Shells

I have been playing way to much in the studio and not keeping up with house work. But guess that is ok? A friend and I have been working with our collected sea shells. Some are my grandparents from Florida back from 1960's.
I also used some die cuts I bought years ago from an artist estate sale.I get started on a project and just can't stop however there is lots of glue dying time evolved with these.

This first one is my favorite one

These were really fun to make I'll show a couple

I think this is another one that is my favorite LOL I had a small piece drift wood I added
The backs are shells glued standing up then I embellished them with with trims etc

I added some pearls since pearls do come from our sea shells

I think this little girl is sweet riding in her egg cart, I put glitter around her shell , It was a challenge to get these shells glued to stand up on other shells

Now i'm trying to decorate Easter Eggs, since I love glitter I'm starting with glitter and then will add ribbon trims and rhinestones. I must let them wait for today I have a list of other things to get done. Also since the sun is shinning I can get things accomplished, on cloudy days I just want to sit and eat cookies LOL

Are you working on any projects? I still have cards I want to make for Birthdays etc.I use old papers from calendars and scarp book finds on my cards

Happy Daylight Savings Time

I have just been piddling around the house and trying to straighten up a few things however keep finding things to play with like these old glass bead flowers. I have been straightening up the peddles. because I had them squashed in a drawer

I even have sun out today on the first day of daylight savings time.

I do hate to hear about the Missouri River above flood stage up north of St Louis .I have a friend who lives in an old mansion and I hate to hear how close the water gets to his house on the river.
There is some wonderful old house along the river towns in Missouri.

I even found these napkins I bought myself back in December and will use them now that I found them in a drawer. I like anything monogrammed I have said this before.

Just a quick hello I,m going to eat some blueberry scones now I made this afternoon, also need to make a cup hot tea to go with them .

Hope you are having a good Sunday, does everybody change to daylight savings time ?

Costume Jewelry

Oh How I love old costume jewelry from years ago. Maybe 1920-1970's maybe just all costume jewelry.

I got this pin once from an auction and love the coral face cameo. It is a large pin and I did wear it couple times on jackets then back when altered art jewelry got popular I added it to my favorite rhinestone necklace I purchased once in Portland Oregon at the Expo antique show, which had to be in early 1990's? I didn't damage the pin any, I was careful not to damage the rhinestone necklace or the cameo. It can easily be taken apart.

I was looking though a glass door cabinet I have lots small treasure stored in and this was laying so beautifully on top of an old antique glass travel jar with a sterling lid.
The little rose buds are 14k the bow sterling !

Guess I could have cleaned it before taking these pictures , I love it

We still have snow and ice and I like everyone else is waiting patiently on warm spring weather. We have no choice but to wait patiently. In the mean time I am inside playing with old jewelry and rearranging one of my dish cabinets with lots odds and end of dishes covered in roses.

Have you noticed instead of business saying have a nice day, they are saying have a wonderful  day? I have noticed it a few places , just a thought.

Home Sweet Home

It's still icy and very cold here, however the sun is out this morning. I am staying in and making Valentine cards and a pot of soup, also trying to find things LOL as usual, always looking for something. Don't You?

In my what I call my home office I have lots empty large gold frames on a wall and have smaller frames inside of them, most are very old chippy frames which I like a lot. Thought I would show a few for this post

I don't follow  instruction on how to make your home pretty I just do what I like and stick it all together LOL  I love Charles Faudree the designer and would love to have one of his french kitchens he designed years ago he passed away however I'm always looking for his large table top books

I found this round star burst frame once in a resale shop for $1

This picture below is a newer frame 1990's.I still love my red walls in my office, they need  repainted I had a painter paint it several years ago and now it's looking sort of french, you know like the paint is rubbing off in areas

These frames are mostly wood

Since it's close to Valentine's I'll post this sweet little picture which is a piece of toile material I framed

Also the sheep is out of the same piece of material.I have them hanging inside of a larger frame

I am glad to be home this morning and working on a couple projects before I have to get out and about, hope your Saturday is good also.

Cold Winters Day

Hi everybody

Just a quick update on what I have been up to with my local blog girlfriends.

Yesterday we went around to local shops here and there.Like local Kent's florist and a couple resale shops here in town. We had planned to go into St Louis however was to get freezing rain so I didn't want to be out on the interstate driving home in  with freezing rain so we stayed in town.

I am putting things out for Valentines already since I have been fininding things in drawers and boxes . I don't have all my things in one place which I am working on getting organized once more. I get it all organized then mess it all up again.

I think this little tree is a Nicole Sayre and i know the birds are Wendy Addison which I have loved her things for years. I am working on making a large glitter star like she put up a video once how to make them

These little clip on feather and glitter birds I got yesterday at a shop in town where Christmas was 65% off, both birds were like $4.55
I got an adorable felt tree at another store for $3.90

Above my purple beaded heart

A little Valentine vignette

This is a wonderful jug/pitcher i found at a resale shop $3.00 !!!!! i couldn't grab it up fast  enough
I think it's a gallon size marked made in Portugal

I'm going to head out to Dollar Tree to get a couple valentine things for friends
