This large Hello Kiddies Santa mold I bought t a yard sale and it was in original old cardboard box and I threw the box it away ! That was before I knew to keep any original box,and then I found out this mold was selling in shops for $250.00. I am sure I got it in the 1980's also. It is 12 inches tall where the little father Christmas one is 5 1/2 inch tall. However today things just aren't worth as much as they were in the 1980's.
I got the little Christmas Tree just a few years ago and I don't think it is an antique one due to the clips and it just looks new compared to my old ones. I think they look good sitting on my little plaid lunch box.

THOSE are SO cool...what great decorations they make. How odd that the first mold was split up in the auction - glad you ended up with both - SCORE! Happy Holidays - Tanya
ReplyDeleteI am thinking it's late 1800's early 1900's candy mold I should look up the numbers on it to see if I can find out
DeleteWhat great scores! I love that they're vintage, and that they make such great display pieces. Tartan plaid lunch boxes always look amazing around Christmastime!
ReplyDeleteThese are really great finds and add so much to your decor. Very nice.

Too funny that they didn't know they went together and put them in the same auction. It probably help the price thought since each of them was "incomplete". Nice collection!
ReplyDeleteKathy I think I paid $65 for both pieces and this was in 1989?
DeleteHi Janice, I like your Santa molds! I've been to a few antique auctions in Glasgow and they always seem to be good ones. Things were still going really high even in the 90's when I started buying antiques.
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of your week,
Gina
Those molds are neat. I'm not sure I've come across any of those before.
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing the Christmas molds in magazines back in the 80s. Were they for chocolate? Yours are beautiful! And your unique Christmas tins in the previous post. In fact you have so many lovely unusual things on this first page.
ReplyDeleteI loved your story about your first turkey--Mom to the rescue!
Thank you so much, Janice, for visiting and commenting on my blog today. I will add you to my blogroll so I will be sure not to miss any more posts.

DeleteI am down sizing all of my collections
Love your Santa molds. I had two- one went to each daughter. I just love yours! That little lunchbox is darling! Hope you are having a great week so far! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteSweet little molds...they look darling in that vignette. It sure is true that much of what we loved in the 80s is not appreciated now. Sigh. I've got a round oak table in my attic that I couldn't give away! Maybe in another fifty years. Ha!
ReplyDeleteThose are really neat to have.. hold on to them...
ReplyDeleteVery neat -- and I also love the red plaid thermos box!
ReplyDeleteLove your collection of vintage Christmas molds, so cute.
ReplyDeleteBlessing,
