Oh what wonderful old books, and how nice of your friend to get them for you. They are beautiful. I like your cabinet with the Valentine display. laurie
ReplyDeleteHi Janice,
ReplyDeleteoh, I see. It is a book with church songs. May I tell you that the title is different. The point don't belong to the word "Herrn". It is just a adornement of the line. So the title is "Lobsinget dem Herrn", which means praise the master (god)!
The poem inside was written by the Godmother of the person, who owned this book. See, here the children get their 1. Holy Communion on the sunday after Easter. And that is the date, they get their first song book. So I guess the owner has his communion at 11. March 1915.
The Words are: "Habe Gott vor Augen und im Herzen, Von deiner Patin Marie Stahl"
means
"Keep God in sight and in your heart, From your Godmother Marie Stahl."
I like that you have this song book. I own also several old books. I cannot through them away. I wish you the blessing of God for treasuring this.
Best greetings, Johanna
