So Happy I found These

I love old silverware and always on the look for it. This resale shop where I go sometimes has some old  vintage things. I can tell if someone is cleaning out their  Grandma's house a few  good old items show up.

Also this shop is where I got my painting of the lady on my blog I don't have a really good picture of it but love her. This spoon is gold color and I don't have another gold piece of silverware I know it's old so it had to come home with me. I also liked the ornate work on it of course the price was lovely also.

This piece I think is a tomato server I have one that matches my silver plate set.

This is what I call a crumb catcher you use it to brush the crumbs off your dinner table. Old dinning rooms always had a crisp linen or lace tablecloth on it so you brushed the crumbs off and left your beautiful tablecloth on till next meal. back In the day of elegant dinning and family dinning together
It has another ladies monogram on it but I don't care I like the monogramming I'll just pretend it's mine.

I really don't think it was used much it is not even scratched inside I will put wrapped candy in it.

This was the only match set in the find I like how the handles are round and it is very light weight makes me think it's sterling it does have marks but didn't make note of them when writing this. You know us obsessed people are always looking for marks or signature on silver and china and jewelry thinking we have found gold

The spoon on the left is sterling silver I can tell because it is so light weight feels like coin silver. I didn't realize this till I started this post I just took them home and put them in the drawer of collected silver.I do use them when I have dinner parties.

Here they are together I forgot to mention the fork I got the same day

OMG This was My find of this year so far  since I LOVE antique jewelry

She is just so beautiful no signature on the portrait however on the back is the number  23? someone mentioned maybe this was the 23rd made? But I don't think they made mass productions of old pins like this.

On the back it is like a stone not porcelain. Maybe somebody can tell me. You can wear it as a brooch or necklace. I already wore it to work on a chain. It measures 2  1/4 x 3 inches

I laid it in an old watch box I have and  also have the watch that came in this box.

I have a couple more old cameos and one other pin from an Great Aunt Ollie  I think it is a Limoges pin with a signature

This lost lonesome dirty shaker was found on this trip also.It was only $1. so thought might as well take it home. It's silver plated. I may show it again after I clean it up. I may put glitter in it
After I wrote this post and was thinking about it and realized I have turned into my Great Aunt Ollie she worked at a Hotel antique gift shop and was always talking about what she found at the shop. I would go with my Grandparents to visit  her  on week ends when I was a child. she always had something to show , (bless her heart)her latest treasure. My Grandmother didn't like anything old said she lived with old and only wanted new items, which she didn't have any of those either. The old portrait pin really reminds me of my Great Aunt  Ollie.

I am showing my pin on Savvy Southern Style on WOW us Wednesday .

I bet it looked beautiful worn as a necklace and I'm glad to hear you're wearing it, and using your silverware...I think it's sad when beautiful things are tucked away, out of sight! I love the idea of glitter in the silver shaker! You are so clever! I am happy to be your newest follower!
