Today I thought I need to create something today so went to the studio and started looking around as what I could put together.
I had an idea so got several items gathered up and thought to myself can this look as good as I want it to. I didn't think so but started my project anyway.
Not sure what I was going to do I just kept piling things on the table
I think this old cup and the little lace doilies are so pretty
This sweet sugar got his one handle broke off but I never threw it away and now I have a project for it
I got a few more things gathered up and started on making pin cushions. I didn't get pictures of one empty cream pitcher
Ta Dah , or how ever you spell that saying you know what I mean. First pin cushion created by Janice and Sissy she laid right beside me while I worked on and off all day.
This is a Deni cup very small and I just glued the little doilie to the top of the cup, it does have some quilt batting in the cup covered with an old linen, it drapes over nicely made a little button cutie and put a pearl top hat pin through the buttons
This was my first project and not sure how to get this material in the sugar bowl but I finally just stuffed it down in the bowl with liquid stitch and held it a minute till it seemed attached then added the fringe to it
I didn't get a empty picture of this sugar bowl it's just a plain ivory color
That is what I did today plus go to target and grocery store then the library and in between that the cable man came and fixed my music channel a squirrel had chewed a connection away from the pole outside.
I needed to stay busy because Sissy(my Pug) is very sick and maybe her little life will only last another 6 weeks she has very advanced cancer. I knew she hadn't been eating as much and then she got to where she just wasn't happy then just looked so sad. She was just in the 4th of March for a check up and the vet treated her with an enlarged thyroid with antibiotics and I took her back yesterday because I knew something was wrong. I just thought she was bored with her food. I never expected a life expectancy of maybe 6 weeks because of the advancement of the cancer. needless to say I cried all night and just can't stand the thought of not having her around. Life is so hard sometimes.
I know people who aren't dog people just can't understand this but they are our family members. So much comfort and fun to have a dog around.
I just read that new book the story of a 4 year old boy who experienced heaven , he died while in the hospital Heaven Is For Real is the name of the book. Anyway Coltin I think was his name said there was animals in heaven he seen lots of dogs so that is comforting to me. Plus he seen his Grandpa he never knew and a sister his mother miscarried that he never knew about

I know that very sad time when you have to get ready to say goodbye to a loved pet. You give them love and they give you back unconditional love. We still miss our little one. Your pincushions/china mix are wonderful. Thank you for sharing.

I love these random pincushions. My friend makes platters of pin cushion groupings....too fun! Nothing bad can come from just piling it on the table and waiting for something to sing to you!
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to you as you spend this time with your sweet little pug. We lost our pug a few years ago. She was just 10 years old and became very sick and was gone in just 2 weeks. She stayed by our side and we stayed by her in those last days just as you are doing with your pug. I even let the kids stay home from school for a few days at the end. I sure hope that little boy is right about heaven...and I pray she goes peacefully.

Your pincushions turned out so lovely! It's good to keep busy, and I'm so sorry about Sissy. Our furbabies are part of the family, and it's so sad when we lose them. It will be a year in May that we had to put down our beloved cat MimiLucy, and I still miss her every day.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing how people can turn lonely pieces into great pieces. All the pin cushions are so pretty.

Richard (My Old Historic House) stopped by my blog to tell me about Sissy. I am so sorry that this is happening. It is so hard to see someone we love suffer, especially when they are so innocent and pure and good, like Sissy. She knows you love her. You have given her the best life she could have and she knows that. She is comforted by the mere sound of your voice. You have shown her what it means to be loved, to be cherished.
ReplyDeleteMy heart breaks for you. I will be praying for both of you.
Warmly,
Andie
What a sweet idea are the pincushions. This is the first time I've read your blog and I really like the things you are doing and talking about.
ReplyDeleteI know how hard it is to say good-bye to our dear four-legged companions. After having to put down two of my dogs I said I can't ever do that again--no more dogs. Well, I lasted for a year and then I couldn't stand how quiet and empty my house seemed. I adopted my sweet Labradoodle, Tavi, in '08 and love him so much. And he is so devoted. He's really a lover and I'm so glad I have him. My heart aches for you having to lose your dear little pug, but just remember that when he leaves you he will be whole and happy again and who knows, maybe you will meet him in heaven. I believe that is possible.
I read the Heaven is Real book. Quite amazing and inspiring!
Must stop and retire. Enjoyed reading your blog so much and am sure I will be back! Sending prayers for you and Sissy.
Peace and Love to you.
