I am home today taking down decorations and looking at this messy house LOL. I am just glad to be home today and enjoy being in my pajamas all day putting things away on my own time
This is a little post card I made I think a couple years ago? Just wanting to say hoping for another Happy New Year with friends and family and my cat Shirley

Christmas Quilt
Hi Everybody
I am busy and about like everyone else and as usual get stressed out so I have decided not to stress and just let a few things go until I have time, like a new post
Looking through some old pictures I found my red & white flying geese quilt picture so showing it again, I use it for a tablecloth at Christmas . I bought this at a yard sale several years ago and just love it still
OK lovely people I am on my way to get other things done , have a great Merry Christmas with your families and eat lots of good fating things, ENJOY

Tree in a Boot
Well I am behind in decorating for Christmas, however I am not having anyone over till December 23rd so I have some time left.
Since I can't lift any thing of weight I decided to give away my 7ft prelite tree. I put it on craigslist yesterday under the free column and it wasn't 30 minutes and a man in a truck picked it up. My son in law and grandson got it out on the curb for me . Now I have a choice of using 3 silver trees or a 6ft white flocked tree and think I will use all of them LOL

This little red boot has a hole in it or it would still be in use by a little boy who loves to walk in water . It was given to me to use for my hen & chicks but I decided to work it into my Christmas theme up on one dish cabinet
This is my paper calendar reindeer under my large cloche
favorite Christmas picture
This is a Christmas picture taken in 1951 I was 5 years old my Mother was expecting my sister and this was my rich cousin (LoL) with me & my brother under the tree. I was always amazed they would come to the country for Christmas since they lived in St Louis Missouri , the city where Santa was at Famous Barr , didn't know that for a few years
Marilou & I both got a doll and the doll buggy was mine , this is what I can really say was Back In The Day
Marilou and I got reacquainted a couple years ago and I ask her if she hated coming to our country house in Mt Vernon Illinois for Christmas and leaving her beautiful house where she had a white canopy bed in her own bedroom?( That is what I remembered about my aunt & Uncles house in the city) She said no coming to our house was her best memories of Christmas. That warmed my heart

Tomato Spoons
Hi all
I am back from my 10 day trip out to PNW that is Oregon & Washington state for you that don't know where the PNW is . I use to be one of those people that didn't know what that meant
I didn't get to do hardly any shopping like I like when I go out to Portland Oregon but this trip we was on a peninsula off Washington state on the coast a little town called Long Beach Washington .
I had a new experience , I experienced hurricane winds like 100 miles per hour winds. I wanted to be like the weather men and see if I could walk against the winds LOL. It was raining so hard Sunday night the 18th when we got there we had no choice but to stay inside also the Monday . The local lighthouse clocked winds at 100, scratch that event off my bucket list LOL
In Long Beach Washington there was a real big metal building flea market type and I found a tomato spoon and then next door at a nicer shop I found a mother of pearl handle tomato spoon , I guess I collect these now and have 9 also 3 little forks , all for $1.00 one is a fish fork and not sure what the other two are if anyone knows let me know please. I love little sterling silver serving pieces.
The Tomato spoons are for serving sliced tomatoes
These are for serving sliced tomatoes
This was in the shop
Oh and I have to show you Jake The Alligator Man, there was a whole long story about this ( fake ?) creature but I didn't read it . LOL ugly I know. It was in a museum on the island. (I don't like this sort of thing but ? )
I know this is nothing like the beautiful Christmas decor everyone is showing LOL I will do better next time LOL
I got home last night about 8:20 pm and went to work this morning at 8 am
Glad to be home
me on the beach, time share behind me. I loved walking the cold windy beach

Just been LAZY
Hi There
Well I don't have any excuse for not posting sooner, just lazy. I have been trying to get things cleaned out like excess vintage books. I have cleaned out cabinets like under the TV wall cabinet and in my office and in the studio where I have old vintage books stashed. Now I have piles of books in every room .LOL So I am down sizing thinking I might sell my house and go to a condo nothing in stone yet just thinking out loud.
I know there is no way I can move 20 years of collecting into a smaller house. My dream would be move down to Lake Ozarks on the water with a boat dock and a cruiser LOL However would I have enough company to keep me busy?
I have been cleaning the silver for the Thanksgiving & Christmas turkey , long ways to go my pitchers are just black , however the silver butter dish isn't bad. This is my turkey cover and when I purchased it I thought it would cover a 20 lb turkey, however I could only get a 12 lb turkey under it . I just love vintage silver
Also while in the studio I seen my little vintage soft feather tree with my vintage glass ornaments on it so brought it into the kitchen already LOL I really think it's too soon but what the heck . I just wanted to reminisce about where I bought it and what estate sale I bought the entire box of old glass balls and the old garland . My friend and I call it the Martha garland because once on her show she was flaunting all her beautiful vintage Christmas items and had some old garland like mine.
I have about 20 things to do today so must get started , look at the little rusty bell on the tree, the tree is 18 inches tall including the little wooden base .
The sun is out today and I can work like a buss saw when the sun is out FYI LOL, we sure had a dark rainy day Sunday so after church all I did was eat ice cream and tried to clean silver and couldn't get my new siver spary can to spray so had to take it back yesterday and get a new can blah blah not interesting I know
I hope to come up with a more fun post soon . Hope you all eat lots of good things for the holiday

Purple transferware
I have been in love with transferware dishes for years and don't have every piece I want of course however I wanted to show the only 2 little piece I have of purple transferware which when I purchased them I got them at a very reasonable price I think. This is a small cup no handle maybe a demitasse cup for tea?
I follow the blog Nancy's daily Dish and I looked on her etsy page to see if she had any dishes to match these and she does. She has the best assortment of transferware I have ever seen
This item I am showing from my childhood memories. My parents separated when I was 5 my little sister was 5 months old and my brother was 8. We moved in my my maternal grandparents and this hung over our kitchen sink way up high. My Grandpa bought it at Ocean Aquarium in Hermosa Beach California back in the 1950's.They traveled out to California from Illinois our home state. Back then no air conditioner in the car I can just see it now. I always cried when they left on their trips? I guess because they were my security blanket. I wish my grandparents home was still standing I would purchase it and move home . Have you ever been homesick?
Quit Your Belly Akin
Grandpa didn't like anyone griping or complaining so I am sure that's why he bought this for our country home LOL
I am home resting , I went back yesterday for the third steroid epidural injection in my back where I have 4 bulging disks

Buttons & Shells & A pumpkin Oh my
I know I told a lie saying Oct 8th I was back. However my body just wasn't ready to be back. Anyway you don't want to hear about a broken down ladies body LOL
Also I have been itching to work on a small project so thought I would paint the inside of a large shell I have and put mother of pearl buttons in it . I have it setting by my mother of pearl button flowers on a silver table I have with a glass top.
These are before & after pictures. I used gold leaf paint and thought I had purchased gold paint , it turned out to be silver which I already had silver , so just used it
I just love mother of pearl buttons
Talking about buttons I was in a button exchange with Button Floozies and Laurie over at Indulge Your Shelf was in charge and here is the altoid tin I received from my exchange partner Cindy from Indianapolis Indiana
Isn't this cute with the old piece of embroidery & little button on top of tin ?
Look at those mother of pearl buttons LOL
OK now that i'm up I want to surf around at some blogs I haven't got to visit for some time
Oh I don't decorate for Halloween much however here is an old plastic pumpkin from the 1950's that I have had for years and you put a C size battery in the bottom and it lights it up , it still works
I thought I would show you the tin I sent my tin exchange partner Cindy because I don't think she has a blog ?
I really enjoy playing with buttons LOL
