Spent the day in an 1897 attic

My sisters house was built in 1897, and has the old time attic, which I love. I want her to turn it into an attic sewing room. However that more than likely won't happen now. So we cleaned it out and straighten things in neat piles. If you know what I mean. I threw down the little bitty narrow steps about 50 empty boxes. I know these were boxes of every thing they had bought for the last 10 years. I threw them down and my sister broke them down for the recycling box we filled an entire little trailer.
She also filled my car with yard sale items , I looked like a gypsy woman driving down the interstate home last night. so Saturday morning I am having a yard sale. I live on a busy street , and all I have to do is put things in the yard and people stop all day long. I may get pictures taken after I unload the car.

It has been rewired for safety I remember my brother in law telling me about an electrician working there a few years ago when they had central air and new furnace installed. However it looked really old to me.

This is what all the flooring looked liked which was very safe. Looking at the roof joints it didn't look real good.   It was cool up there all morning then about 1pm it was hot. Those were an old pair of sisters work boots I had my pretty lime green cowgirl boots on for a while anyway.

She had two of these old metal trunks filled with different things . I thought those would sell good but  I didn't tell her that because I knew she wasn't selling her husbands trunks or  anything of his. I can't believe this is all the pictures I took of the attic and all the treasures we were digging in. We was to busy for pictures I guess. She was so happy to get things organized.

I was ready for a cup of coffee. Like my pretty new Trader Joe's coffee I bought Sunday. Of course I bought it for the gorgeous container  its paper also.
Love the french roast container. isn't that lady just so stylish?
This is a picture of one of my silver trays I  had outside once taking pictures I thought it looked good with the coffee lady.

Here is a little smocked dress I washed  up for the flea market. Some little  girl could wear this now. I mean it's cute enough to wear put little  cowgirl boots on her and a pair of pearls.

This is a picture of my little rusty wagon . The flowers won't last much longer because our evenings are really getting cooler quick. I think it is to be down to 49 this week.

Talking about little girls this is a picture I have hanging in my living room next to my pretty lady painting. This is not a painting, just a print. I am looking for a print or painting of  little boys now.

This is not a good picture too much reflection on the painting.

I didn't show you my new little vintage cracker tray I bought at Portland Expo last year., I am going to put my calling cards in it .
Now this is something else i just love to collect, silver spoons.I have lots i guess you would say. I also have a drwaer with lots in it.
My sister sent home with me a lot of vintage silver plated silverware, forks, knives, and spoons. I better take them out to the flea market to sell.
Oh and i just love my old round mirror trays these are setting on. I always look for them but they are so expensive now. I bought these at an auction for $17.50 each.
This wire coiled star a friend gave me and I am using it all year. It seems to be like something you would put on top of a Christmas tree. But it looks good sitting right here.

Some  pictures I took at Charleston South Carolina when I was there a few years ago.. The little English cabs were so cute and all the houses with their big porches. Also the last picture is an condo that was for sell close to the battery just 2 million.

I  should have called them with a balcony instead of porches. porches sounds so country, which I am use to .

Here is the $$$$$$$$2 Million dollar apartment, that I wanted.

papeterie , French , pap-tre a box used to hold paper

I have always loved old paper and paper products. I will buy something I don't even use if it is in a pretty or graphic box. I buy lots of soap from a certain store just because it is in hard boxes decorated to the hilt. Is that the correct word? Yes I checked mr. webster.

Here is a few pictures of my old post cards then I want to show some pictures of a stores  trade mark  sacks,I have wanted to go to for  some time.Anyway a friend of mine & I went into St Louis yesterday afternoon and shopped & shopped & shopped. She was in one store and me another and they were running us out , closing time 6pm we were at the Galleria.Us country girls wanted to shop longer. We don't go to the city every day. We also went to the new Nordstroms Rack, it was packed we waited in line  for some time to pay for our purchases which were very good purchases then off we went to Trader Jo's.

I just love the graphics on these sacks. I am going to try and cover an old book with one sack. I ask the cute guy bagging my groceries if I could have extra sacks, Yes  was the answer so I ask for 4 and he gladly put them in an bags. Oh I got a cute wine sack also, so cute. Now you have to like paper products as much as me to think a grocery sack is cute. But they are soooooooo cute.

These pictures are in an old picture album I have , it is fairly small. I measured it and it is 4x6 inches.

This couple must be mates they were on the same facing pages. Back in the old days they sure didn't smile in pictures did they?

Then a lady buy herself, look at that dress. I just love the old vintage clothing from back in the late 1800's early 1900's.
This was in the album also.   A Grandmother i'm sure.
This is how the little book looks.    Remember it is 4x6 inches.
This is on the back of one of the pictures.

Ok now a few old post cards which i always look at the postage side as well as the front.

I was so excited when I got home today and checked my mail box and found this from a very good friend's Aunt who is in PARIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Thanks Aunt Mary , I love it. You made me happy today. Oh and thanks Jo I am sure you ask her to do this for me. xoxoxoxoxo

Look at the postage mark & stamp. She mailed it the 27th and I have it already? I can't get a card to Kansas City that fast.

Ok a couple pretty transferware sugars.I bought these at my favorite store down town. They carry Wendy Addison paper products and antiques. I love this store. A lA  Campagne.

Oh my Gosh     I forgot to show you my new work boots, Fabulous!!!!!!!!They are all the craze now you know that don't you? The short cowgirl boots are here girlfriends.
I can't wait to wear them. I am going to go visit my sister tomorrow so I am going to wear them She is the sister who her & her husband has horses and rides etc. My brother in law who recently passed away.

                                         Here they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK I hear all of the OMG's out there. They came in Lime , orange or  Ivory. My friend with me was about to die, she couldn't believe I would even consider buying a pair of boots this color. There was other women there cheering me on which I didn't need much cheering. They were mine when I seen them. I know I won't be wearing them down to the barn, not my pretty boots.

More flea Market Treasures

I dug around in the garage and found a suit case with a few more iron pieces and other things i already had packed.

I think these little stoves are so cute and since rust is all the craze now they really fit in. and this old pulley I can think of a few things to use it for.

Looks like I am cooking up some costume jewelry on my little stove.

Knock Knock who's there? Any body need a door knob?

Baby shoe iron I have another one already packed somewhere i seen it yesterday.

Hears something I just absolutely love, costume jewelry. I have lots of it and use it for my altered art books & cards. I have my Mother's jewelry box and also my Grandmothers jewelry box full. I don't use their jewelry for projects but sure love looking through them once in a while and remembering when they wore the jewelry.
Here is a couple tins I found with broken jewelry and odd pieces in I will sell at the flea market. I have plenty and might as well share.

Guess what this next picture is .

It is so pretty, and it's silk .
It's a real pretty box purse.

This is an Oriental black silk jacket . I realize now I should have got a closer picture the little blue birds on it is just adorable. The tag says Health and under that Shanghai China. Now for a wooden Oriental doll I got at an estate sale of a lady who I knew who use to have a china import shop.

Look at its joint I think they are hand craved they interlock and move. However one foot was broke off when I bought it. I guess it's a boy doll.
with out pants so you can see the leg & foot joints.
                                                        Little hand.

Now some doll suit cases and baby clothes .

Those were baby dresses. This is my all time favorite doll dress. she has a little bonnett attached  to it with a safety pin on the shoulder.
OK now this is a quilt I am giving someone for their Birthday , she wanted an old quilt to put in her car for picnics. Then I made her a Birthday cake. She is coming over after this afternoon , then i will surprise her. It's a tied quilt old cotton .

I got these candles at Pier 1. aren't they cute also I got the matching paper plates and napkins they say eat more cake.
It is sitting on one of my mothers'cake plates.

One last picture today. I bought this at a yard sale this week . I am going to paint it white and put some little faded pink candles in it and add lots of prisms of course. I will post a picture when i get it completed.
