Few Pictures of things I painted Also Mom's Birthday today

Today Is my Mom's Birthday she would have been 86. She died from having cancer like so many other people. She was 74 when she passed, it was hard to loose a mother. I know lots of other daughters have lost their Mothers's also.

Now for the after shots of my painting day.

Here Is a few pictures of the items I got painted yesterday. Boy was it hot & humid and boy was I tired when I finally stopped? Yes is the answer. I really like the mirror.

I will sell this little night stand at the flea market Oct 9th. I decided to use a pink satin ribbon for the bottom handle. I think it looks so shabby chic, maybe something Rachel Ashwell would do? Miss Shabby Chic herself.

I didn't get the doll buggy painted, ran out of paint. I will finished it this week, however we have rain in the forecast. I can use the garage to paint in.

I just love the wooden silverware tray painted. Bragging on my work girls.

One more studio picture. Blue bottles in my window.

My projects for Today

Well today after church I want to get these items painted. They might not look as good as I have them pictured in my head, but I,m going to give it a try.

The old doll buggy , well I have never seen one painted so that will be interesting. The wooden silverware trays I have seen painted and liked them painted white.
The mirror I got at a resale shop , it has a few pieces missing on one side but I know it will look great painted white, think I will hang it in the kitchen.

I forgot to take a  picture of an old wooden ironing board, I wanted to use it for a plant stand in the studio.

I took some pictures of my outside chandelier while I was on the back patio with all my items waiting to be painted. I have had this chandelier hanging from my tree for about 5 or 6 years now.

I just love being outside, in a way wished my patio was covered, but then I guess that would loose the effect of being outside. I set outside even in cold weather and drink my coffee.
Talking about weather I am so happy we are back down in the 80's.

One of my neighbors was having a yard sale a couple weeks ago, anyway she gave this to me. She said if you want it Janice, just take it home . It is missing a drawer pull, but that is no problem if I can find my sack of pulls. I always buy drawer pulls at sales if I can find them.

I sold an old secretary earlier this spring and it had the pretties pulls on it. I had painted it white. My friend was moving and selling another old cabinet and I liked that better. Its the old chippy white cabinet I posted once.

This is a quilt rack, it hangs from the wall. I bought it at our side walk sales down town. A cute card shop was going out of business she told me she hung her wrapping paper on it. It is bright red, but what about a quick white paint over?
I have a friend who might want this for her quilt studio. I tell you her quilt studio looks better than some quilt shops I have been it. It is just fabulous, maybe some day she will let me post pictures of it.
Ok  one more picture of the things in the studio, tomorrow is the day I really need to pack things away. Before the wookmen arrive to made their mess.
Oh I thought of one more I would like to show you.

I already showed these last two pictures but not sure how to delete them.

Think I will do some painting

While every thing is going to be a mess any way.
I think I will paint the iron bed and another chair plus a few more little things. Might as well since every thing is going to be in a mess for 2 weeks while the men work on my downstairs. They said it will take no more than 3 full days. The 2 weeks comes in because they are moving all my furniture into another part of the house , then can't get back to actually do the work. for a few days.

This iron bed was like this when i purchased it. I have always wanted to paint it white. I am going to paint the floor in this room white also .
I started on these chairs last fall land never finished so that is another painting project. I love the bog Chez FiFi .
She had a chair similar to these. I wrote he once and ask how she did it.

These are different pairs of curtains I am going to use for the new all white room to be. I like the ones hanging on the hanger, very see through, sheer is the word.

Here is a stack of white linen table cloths also maybe a few curtains. I usually leave them laying out to admire while I am in this room ironing.
When I get the room back together who knows when that will be, I will post a completed picture.

This small shelf is going to get painted white also. I sure hope the weather is nice so I can paint outside Saturday . I know most people show before & after pictures same day. I am not  that organized yet. I just post pictures as I think of what I want to talk about today.

Part two My Studio Treasures

Here is a few more pictures of my studio and all the items I have statched away. I am trying to get a few items out and priced for the annual fall flea market in my area. It is at Artichoke Annies on I-70. Oct 9th, but it takes a long time to price everything . Anybody that has done it knows how time consuming it is. I have so many drawers and cabinets full. I find things I forgot I had. I have most sale items in my garage already. I can't sell my studio treasures.

I just love it, I have always loved old things. I can remember as a child going through my Grandmothers desk and finding treasures like an old black glass ball that had answers in it. I would ask it will I be rich $$ when I grow up? It said NO. It was right. It had all kinds of answers in it. I would love to have that now.  My grandparents moved to Florida when they retired, my Grandfather passed away , so Grandmother  packed up to move back to where my Mother lived. at the time. Anyway my cousins got most of my Grandparents old items. I am sure the black glass ball lives in Jacksonville Florida now. Along with trunks, a ceramic snake my Grandfather bought in Arizona one year on one of their trips out west. Oh and Grandmothers desk also. I still have pictures of  her desk with a cousin sitting under it. Funny that is the only things I can remember she had when they lived in Illinois. Oh wait a minute she had a big glass basket that always set on the refigerator. I have that. I broke it once, I cried and finally found a company to repair it. So I sent it off in the mail. It came back looking awful. So I cried again. We are not  suppose to cry over spilled milk, but this was Grandmas glass basket.

Hope you enjoy my pictures today. For a close up click on the pictures, then click again. They will be very large. I like them like that.

Moving My Studio Treasures

I am taking pictures of my treasures in my studio. I have to have repairs made on my house. My basement leaks or as I say floods everytime we have a huge downpour like we have had over this week end. I have had two companies tell me I need to move eveything out of my lower level of my house.

Ladies & Gentlemen my basement is packed. Of course with great treasures.

My dear friend Jo told me to take pictures of where everything is,so when I have to put it all back , I can go by my pictures to as where everything was. She said and I agree, I will never get it all back  as neat as it is now.It is packed! I love it all.

I am still going to get bids from other companies, who do the work from the outside.

If you click on my pictures then click again they get large enough to see the small items.

Slips In My Tree

I just love vintage slips and had several at one time. Still have a few. However  I notified a lady in California who dyes them and wears them for like a sun dress. She looks good in them. They are all small sizes. I mean like 36 38 bust size, but they looked smaller than a size 38 today.More like a 32 . This full figured lady can't get in that size. You know any body over size 14 is Full figured? I think I seen that on Oprah maybe , about our size. She had a model on size 12 who was modeling for a  clothing line for us full figured ladies. I haven't been a size 8 since High school or maybe grade school!!  Oh well enough about our figures.

I believe the name of her blog is Glamarella Junk. She is out in sunny California. I would like  to go to some of those flea markets out there.I read a few blogs of ladies who live in California and they are always posting their wonderful finds from a day at the flea market.

These slips always remind me of my Grandmother, she always had a slip under her dress. Back in the day ladies wore dresses every day. Can any one remember that? The good ole days. As they say. I don't want to wear a dress & slip everyday. However I do love looking back at my child hood and remembering my Mother and Grandmother  all dressed up pretty. OK I need to get off this subject.

I had these hanging outside in my tree and  on my wood fence to photograph them for the  lady I sold them to. I am using this one for my background on my home computer.
